Late today, Apple released a bunch of firmware updates to the world. My guess is that they’re meant to address the two major and really annoying issues with these notebooks that have been discussed by myself among others previously. If you’ve got one of the new MacBooks and you’ve tried these updates, please post a comment and let us know what they do and don’t fix.
In the meantime, download the updates either via Software Update or from the links below:
MacBook EFI Firmware Update 1.3
MacBook SMC Firmware Update 1.2
MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.6
MacBook Pro 15-inch SMC Firmware Update 1.2
MacBook Air EFI Firmware Update 1.1
MacBook Air SMC Firmware Update 1.1
You may want to read this document before updating.
UPDATE: According to jkOnTheRun, these firmware updates do NOT fix the RAM issues.
