Apple Sweeps Consumer Reports Laptop Recommendations And Scores Highly In Desktops Too…. Take That Microsoft!

In a sure sign that the Microsoft laptop ads aren’t working, Consumers Reports has given the nod to Apple in almost every category of its recent computer ratings according to the New York Times. Let’s start with laptops:

In laptops, Apple MacBooks rated first in the 13-inch category, the 14-to 16-inch size, and the 17-inch list; Dell, Toshiba and Hewlett-Packard were also-rans. The 15-inch MacBook Pro was rated overall with a score of 75 out of 100, ahead of a 64-rated Toshiba Satellite (the Pro costs $2,000, the Toshiba $700).

And then there’s the desktops:

Among desktops, the Mac mini finished second to an H-P Pavillion Slimline, and the iMac placed second behind a Dell XPS One.

Not bad. And what about tech support as that’s a very important component of any computer purchase? Apple rules there too:

CR surveyed its readers about computer tech support. Apple trounced the field in both desktop and laptop categories.

Microsoft. You should just give up on those laptop ads and focus your attention on making an OS that people want to buy. While you’re at it, you might want to tell your partners such as Lenovo, HP, and Sony to start putting value into their notebooks the way Apple has rather than competing on price. Clearly consumers are willing to pay more to get a quality product, and are running to the Temple Of Steve Jobs Apple stores to do so.
