Rogers Makes Text Messaging “Extreme”

Rogers seems to have a lot of news this week. Here’s the latest note from “my best friends at Rogers:”

We’ve just introduced Extreme Text Messaging: new text messaging features which are now available at no extra charge for all Rogers wireless customers.

The new features include:

·       Text Blocker
·       Distribution Lists
·       Text Copy
·       Text Forward
·       Text Auto Reply
·       Personal Signature

For more details and info on how to set up these features, check out Rogers.com.

Extreme text messaging? I guess if you don’t have a smart phone such as an iPhone, this is a big deal. But for smart phone users, perhaps not so much. But having said that, one feature that I do like is the fact that you can block text messages from specified numbers. That will come in handy for that ex turned stalker.

And if that isn’t enough, here’s one more thing:

Also, you may remember our recent launch of the My Account app for Android and iPhone users. Today, we launched the My Account app for BlackBerry. Check out the details on RedBoard.

This is an interesting app as it  lets personal Blackberry, Android, and iPhone users view balances and check airtime, messaging and data usage on their Rogers Wireless account. Rogers says the data is current up to 4 hours and it resets automatically on your bill date. Corporate Blackberry users are out of luck for now, but that will change “later this year.”

One wonders what else Rogers will announce this week.
