Sony just sent me a press release announcing a new phone called the Vivaz Pro. Weird name, but the phone has some interesting features such as:
- Best in Class Messaging – Quickly and easily send messages, chat and email with all your friends on the full QWERTY keyboard
- Capture & Share in HD – Share your vision with the ability to record ultra-sharp HD videos in high-definition 720p
- Social networking made simple – With easy access2 to Facebook, Twitter and effortless upload of HD videos to YouTube via Wi-Fi.
- Designed with you in mind – Inspired by human curvature and created from premium materials. The Vivaz pro features a wide 3.2” touchscreen.
It sounds interesting as I like phones with real keyboards. But that opinion is based this press release which doesn’t mention what OS the phone runs. Though one has to assume it’s Android given the fact that Sony has so many Android phones. Whatever it runs, it is clearly a shot at the Blackberry Torch. It might be worth looking at if you want a phone in the next little while.
UPDATE: Picture below. I also got an e-mail from Sony. It runs the Symbian OS.
