Bang & Olufsen made a number of new product announcements during CES this week that will get an audiophiles attention. Here’s the highlights:
BeoSound Essence

BeoSound Essence is a radically simple approach to accessing digital music possibilities, whether they’re in the cloud, on a computer, NAS, mobile phone or tablet. It consists of two components: an aluminum BeoSound Essence Remote with true Bang & Olufsen touch and movement, and a hide-away box that is the centre for AirPlay streaming, DLNA streaming, Spotify Connect, QPlay and thousands of global internet radio stations. The BeoSound Essence will be available in spring 2014 for the retail price of $1050.
BeoLab Transmitter 1 and BeoLab Receiver 1


The BeoLab Transmitter 1 and BeoLab Receiver 1 are a WiSA compatible transmitter/receiver set that enable wireless connection between any Bang & Olufsen sound system or television, and almost all of its broad range of active speakers. The BeoLab Transmitter 1 is now available in Canada for the retail price of $650 CDN, and the BeoLab Receiver 1 will be available in Canada in February 2014 for the retail price of $300 CDN.
Form 2i

The world’s longest living headphones on the market, Bang & Olufsen’s Form 2 headphones, is now updated and relaunched with new features including a microphone, 3-button remote and improved comfort, as well as a new name, Form 2i. Form 2i is an ultra-light and stylish on-ear headphone with an impressive and honest stereo sound. It will be available in Canada in February 2014 for the retail price of $140 CDN.
Golden Edition BeoPlay H3

The Golden Edition BeoPlay H3 headphones offer another stylish and expressive way of enjoying high-end sound on-the-go. The golden colour combined with the black housing represent a timeless, alluring expression and quality that complements almost every outfit and suits any purpose. It will be available in Canada in February 2014 for the retail price of $290 CDN.
In addition to the new products, Bang & Olufsen also announced that its recently launched wireless speaker, BeoLab 18, received the honorary International CES Best of Innovations 2014 Award in High Performance Home Audio and its BeoLab 17 compact wireless speaker has also been named a CES Innovations 2014 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree.
