Review: Rogers Anyplace TV Home Edition Mobile For iOS
Something that my wife has recently added to her collection of iPhone apps is the Rogers Anyplace TV Home Edition Mobile App for iOS. This excessively long named app allows you to control your PVR from anywhere. For example, you can use your Apple devices as a remote control. That I found kind of interesting, but honestly, I’d rather use the real remote. You can also access and search the interactive programming guide from anywhere. That’s handy if you’re trying to find a show that might be on that night. But the key thing is that you can schedule and manage your PVR remotely. You can record, delete, and update from anywhere. This is the key reason why you want this app. It’s extremely handy to be able to program your favorite shows from the bus, work, or anywhere else.
So how well does it work? I must say that it works well for the most part. We did have the occasional problem accessing our PVR remotely. But those problems were transient in nature and they disappear if we kept trying. It only works with a handful of Rogers PVRs. Specifically the Nextbox 8642HD PVR, Nextbox 4642HD, Explorer 8300HD PVR, and Explorer 4250HD. It’s also only available to Rogers customers in Ontario. That’s a bit of a shame and perhaps this will be rolled out nationwide soon. But other than that, if you’re a Rogers customer who has a PVR from Rogers, you need to download this app. It’s free and I believe that you’ll find it very useful.

Too many problems, starting with home internet phone that need to disconnect and connect every so often+having to pay for too many channels that r not interesting for us, and on top of that the new upgrade TV guide ” the Navigator” is a real mess, too many problems: from it doesn’t show movie # of stars any more, to hard to find your recording program, doesn’t show time of the show, just annoying to use.
