Two Factor Authentication Now Available On iCloud And For Apple IDs

Apple is making iCloud more attractive to businesses and the paranoid as it has just become much harder to hack by introducing two factor authentication. Apple has a support document that speaks to this and it’s really easy to set up. Once it’s set up, you’ll need your phone handy as after you enter your password to log into either account, you’ll have to enter a code that Apple will send to your phone.

So, you’re likely asking why is this a big deal? Simple. Two factor authentication is more secure than simply using a password because you also use something else to login. In this case, it’s your phone. If you are the least bit paranoid about your Apple ID or your iCloud account, you need to set this up.

Props to Apple for making their services more secure.
