Well, this takes the shine of the Z30 announcement from this morning.
A report is claiming that 40% of BlackBerry’s workforce is about to be laid off:
Several thousand of its employees will probably be affected, the news organization said, citing sources.
Layoffs will come across all of BlackBerry’s operations, and will be staggered.
And:
A spokesperson for the company would not comment on the extent of any cuts, but said that “organizational moves will continue to occur to ensure we have the right people in the right roles to drive new opportunities in mobile computing.”
If this is true, it’s not going to help to sell Z30’s, Z10’s or much of anything.
