Review: Tudia Klip
Frequent readers of this blog will know that I am not a fan of Apple Lightning cables because of the rather poor quality that these cables typically have. I’ve written about this, on two separate occasions as they are truly not that robust. Clearly there’s an issue here that Apple can’t seem to address. But I’ve come across a product that addresses this #fail. It’s called the Tudia Klip and it promises to address this issue as well as making those bland white Lighting cables look cool too.

In every pack you get two “Klips” The white part separates from the yellow part (I should note that it comes in five color choices) and you basically wrap the yellow part around the ends of your Apple Lighting cable and use the white part to hold it together. Here’s what it looks like on an Apple Lightning cable that I had lying around.

What the Klip does is provide a significant amount of strain relief on the cables in a stylish manner that doesn’t add much weight or any significant bulk. From what I can see here, the Klip should stop the cable from breaking at the end. Which means that the $7 that the Klip costs on Amazon will save you from paying full price at the Apple Store for a new cable in six months or so when they go bad. One has to wonder why someone hasn’t come up with a product like this long before now. As far as I am concerned, this is a must get if you have Apple Lightning cables in your possession. By the way, these also work with other Apple cables like 30 pin cables and Apple Watch cables, which makes an even more compelling purchase.
