Review: 2016 Mazda MX-5 GT – Part 1

It’s summer so I thought that for my latest car review, I’d do something different. I spend most of my time reviewing cars and SUVs. So why not a roadster I figured. That way I could do some top down driving and feel the wind in my hair…..

Oh wait. I went bald years ago. That’s wind in the hair thing is not going to happen.

Still, the rest of it is a good idea. And Mazda was able to accommodate my mid-life crisis in progress via the MX-5 GT roadster.

From the front, it does look the part while fitting in with the design language of other Mazda vehicles.

From the side, it looks very well proportioned and it is. It has a perfect 50:50 weight distribution that makes it really fun to drive.

Around back, the dual tailpipes look cool and so does the look of the rear end which is simple but elegant.

Since I showed you some pictures with the top down. Here’s one with the top up.

Seeing as the temperatures are going be between 25 and 30 degrees celsius, this will be the perfect car to drive around for the week. My review of the MX-5 GT is made up of five parts:

  • Engine, transmission, handling, fuel economy, and driving comfort
  • Interior
  • Technology in the vehicle
  • Wrap up

Now if you excuse me, it’s time for some top down driving.
