If other people building phones with Google’s Android OS isn’t enough for you, now you have another choice. Google has it’s own phone called the Nexus One which by the way is built by HTC. Here’s the specs:
- 3.7-inch AMOLED display
- 1GHz Snapdragon processor
- Compass
- GPS
- Accelerometer
- Light and proximity sensor
- 5 megapixel camera with LED flash
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- Two microphones for noise cancellation
- 512 MB of Flash and 512 MB of RAM. Supports up to 32GB via MicroSD cards.
- Voice recognition (which is handy as it has no keyboard)
- Android 2.1
Sounds pretty sweet. But before you get too excited, it’s only available in four countries. If you’re in the US, UK, Singapore and Hong Kong, you’ll get some Nexus One love. Everybody else will have to wait until it arrives in their corner of the planet. It will be interesting to see how this competes with all the other Android phones out there, not to mention the Blackberries and iPhones of the universe.
If you want more details, here’s the official press release from Google.
