Microsoft Introduces “Gurus” To Fight Apple “Geniuses”

Okay. Microsoft isn’t copying Apple, they’ve dusted something off from the past and made it look like a brand new idea. According to this Yahoo article, Microsoft is introducing “Gurus” in stores like Best Buy to answer questions about how Microsoft apps work and to dispel any proof that Vista sucks misconceptions about Vista. That’s radically different from what Apple does with the Apple “Genius” concept where they actually fix things.

This isn’s a new idea from Microsoft. They tried this when they were desperately trying to sell the MSN Direct Smart Watch which pushed info to you from MSN. You’ll recall that the watch and the brand ambassadors for the watches flopped.

I’ll going to stick my neck out and say that this is going to flop as well.
