Facebook had a media event today to announce the impending release of Facebook Home for select Android phones. The idea behind Facebook Home is users will navigate their phone “through people, not apps”. All interactions will focus on individual people rather than keeping emails and text messages from the same friends separate. Rather than try to explain it, I’ll let you watch the event here.
Now what phones will this be available for? How about the HTC One X, HTC One X+, Samsung Galaxy S III and Samsung Galaxy Note II? Why no iPhone? Here’s what he told Wired:
We have a pretty good partnership with Apple, but they want to own the whole experience themselves. There aren’t a lot of bridges between us and Google, but we are aligned with their open philosophy.
Hmmmm… Tim Cook, are you listening?
So, question for my readers. Does Facebook Home matter to you or is this a non-event? Post a comment and let me know
