BlackBerry doesn’t need any more problems, but it may have one on its hands. According to blog site N4BB, after updating to a new maintenance release for BB OS 10.1, text messages have seemed to have vanished:
Many users are reporting that after the update, all of their SMS messages disappeared. Others have reported that they can see messages, but when viewing the message thread it shows no history. While others have even reported no SMS functionality at all.
Each user seems to have a different degree of severity in the issue. On my end, the messages were just erased, but SMS functionality still exists. However, attempting a restore does not make the pre-existing messages reappear.
So far, BlackBerry hasn’t commented on this. But if they do, I will update this post. In the meantime, have you been affected by this? Post a comment and share your thoughts.
