The UK has traditionally been a strong market for BlackBerry. That seems to continue to be the case based on a press release from the company. Let me hit the highlights for you:
- Major UK carriers Vodafone, EE and O2 now support BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10
- Luxury hotel group Rocco Forte, global law firm Clyde & Co., NHS Education Scotland, the English Premier League, and Hogg Robinson who are travel providers to corporate customers have made the jump.
- Many of these environments also have iOS and Android devices that are managed by BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10.
- According to the press release, many of these organizations are also deploying BlackBerry 10 devices as well.
- 25k BES 10 servers have been installed globally including over 1/3 of FTSE 100 companies.
The press release is lengthy, but it is an interesting read as clearly BlackBerry is trying to highlight the fact that it’s still strong in the enterprise. Given their change in focus to only go after the enterprise, this sort of news will be key to retaining existing customers and attracting new ones.
