The BlackBerry news doesn’t seem to be stopping today. Thompson Reuters just put out a press release naming their 100 most Innovative Organizations. Here’s how they define innovative:
This honors the 100 corporations and institutions around the world that are at the heart of innovation as measured by a series of proprietary patent-related metrics.
Using that metric, BlackBerry appears at number 38. This means something because it means that anyone wanting to buy BlackBerry likely will get a pile of valuable patents to work from. Not only that, this is the only Canadian company to make the list. Not to shabby and proof that this company is perhaps far from dead.
You can see the complete list at http://www.top100innovators.com.
