If you’re an IT service provider or someone who is responsible for a lot of printers inside their company, Xerox has something that will interest you. Xerox is working on a plug-in solution for remote monitoring and management (RMM) software. The offering will integrate Xerox’s printer discovery and monitoring capabilities with RMM software from LabTech, a global IT software developer for managed service providers and other IT professionals.
The RMM solution features a single dashboard that automatically provides timely information on printer activity and communicates error messages such as paper jams or low consumable levels. The offering supports networked printers and multifunction devices regardless of the manufacturer. That’s big because if you have a mix of printers, you often have to run multiple tools to keep track of them. Thus your life just got a whole lot easier.
This solution will begin beta testing in January 2014 and Xerox will demonstrate it at IT Nation 2013, Nov. 13-15, in Orlando, Fla.
