If you run BlackBerry OS 5 or higher, you will have a new feature in at noon PDT. It’s called BBM Channels. What are they you ask? Let’s say you’re a company and you want to create an environment where your customers can communicate with you and other customers. BBM Channels allows you to do just that. BBM users can then send messages, post questions, and otherwise communicate with you. Meanwhile you can share messages, pictures, and animated GIFs through the service. It sounds a bit like Tumblr to me, but it could be interesting to see if this gains traction.
Now if you’re on iOS or Android, you’ll have to wait for a bit. The company says that BBM Channels will be available in the “coming months.”
