Read into this what you will.
Just before the holiday, BlackBerry co-founder Mike Lazaridis unloaded 3.5 million shares earlier this week which reduces his holding of the struggling smartphone maker from 5.7% to below 5% as per a regulatory filing found by AP. While this isn’t quite the same situation as Jim Balsillie who dumped all of his stock last year, it does send a message. Considering that Lazaridis recently tried to buy the company that he founded, the clear message that it sends is a negative one.
Time will tell if he is right or not.
