Canon Announces A Host Of New Products At CES
Canon was busy at CES yesterday announcing so much product, your head will spin. So let’s not waste any time and get right to it:
Let’s start with camcorders. Canon’s VIXIA HF R-Series lineup of camcorders get three new models, the VIXIA HF R52, VIXIA HF R50 and VIXIA HF R500 camcorders. The new VIXIA HF R-Series camcorders all feature a 57x Advanced Zoom, an upgrade from previous VIXIA R-Series HF camcorders, along with SuperRange Optical Image Stabilization, a Canon 3.28 Megapixel Full HD CMOS Image Sensor, and three-inch capacitive touch panel LCD. The VIXIA HF R52 and VIXIA HF R50 camcorder models feature advanced Wi-Fi capabilities as compared to their predecessor models, enabling them to also function as remote monitoring devices at home or outside the home with mobile internet access. All three VIXIA HF R-Series camcorders feature Advanced Baby Mode, providing users with the ability to select the optical camcorder settings for capturing a baby’s daily growth. Another addition is the PowerShot N100 digital camera. Featuring a new body style and unique, new creative options, the PowerShot N100 camera helps users create and tell their visual stories by allowing the photographer to become part of the image being captured. With the innovative and new Dual Capture mode, users can simultaneously capture special moments using the Main Camera, while the Story Camera, a rear facing sub-camera, will embed a picture of them onto the main image.

You might recall the Vixia Mini which was Canon’s attempt to make a mini-camcorder. Well, they’re back with the Vixia Mini X which makes the following improvements:
- Upgrade from the VIXIA Mini with built-in high quality microphone
- Live Streaming feature allows users to control the camcorder from remote locations (can be used as a baby monitor or to record something remotely, like a band practice)
- Available March 2014 for an estimated retail price of $399.99
Finally, Canon announced the new PIXMA MX532 Wireless Office All-In-One, PIXMA MX472 Wireless Office All-In-One, PIXMA iX6820 Wireless Inkjet Business and PIXMA iP8720 Wireless Inkjet Photo models – to address the varying needs and budgets of personal and home office users.
