From the “I can’t believe they did that” file, comes stories like this one in The Globe And Mail and this one from The Daily Mail that illustrate the fact that a lot of people really didn’t think their cheating activities through as employees of various government employees (in these cases, Canada and US. But there are likely other governments in the data dump that will show up) used their work e-mail addresses on the Ashley Madison service. Not to mention other workplaces that are listed in those articles.
Folks, let me point something out to you. E-mail at the best of times isn’t private. Your work e-mail is even less private as your employer has the ability to read your e-mail. Thus do you really think that it is a great idea to use it for this sort of activity? Now to be fair, it’s come to light that Ashley Madison didn’t verify e-mail addresses. Thus it is entirely possible that some of these are fake. But the fact that many are real is kind of shocking.
Methinks that this is going to be a huge wake-up call for many.
