Crossing the wires now is the news that Noel Biderman who is the CEO of Avid Life Media has stepped down. Thus making him the first casualty of the Ashley Madison hack. You can expect others to follow. But back to Biderman for a second, it isn’t clear if he’s stepping down because of the hack, or because of the details that have come out since. Such as the fact that his competitors have been hacked by his staff, or that he himself has had affairs which is interesting as he has claimed that he has never cheated on his wife. Maybe it was the fact that almost none of the women that were on the site were real, or that he’s getting out of the way of a bunch of lawsuits that he wants no part of. Or perhaps all of the above is in play? Who knows? What I do know is that the company claims that some people from Avid Life Media’s senior management team will run things until a replacement is found. Though, I fully expect other people from their senior management team to bail on the company, and I cannot imagine who would want to be the CEO of this company given what has gone on to this point.
