You might remember that high tech toy company VTech got spectacularly pwned in an epic hack a little while ago and all sorts of personal info on kids and their parents got into the wild. It now appears that the person who was responsible for that hack has been arrested.
Officers from the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) in the UK said they’d arrested a 21-year-old in Bracknell, Berkshire as part of an investigation of the hacking of applications belonging to VTech. In a statement, Craig Jones, head of the Cyber Crime Unit at SEROCU, said this:
We are still at the early stages of the investigation and there is still much work to be done. We will continue to work closely with our partners to identify those who commit offences and hold them to account.
So it sounds like this is not quite done yet. Thus watch this space for further updates.
