BabyBit: The World’s First ‘Smart + Mobile Baby Monitor

Developed by Intel’s former Director of Big Ideas Brian Ostrovsky, the groundbreaking BabyBit — a first-of-its-kind ‘baby wearable tech’ device and accompanying smartphone app — is launching on June 20 with a creative Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign.

With support from automaker Jaguar Land Rover (BabyBit was a member of the Jaguar Land Rover tech incubator), BabyBit’s development team started with a bold question:  How can we provide useful and timely information to parents when they are away from their baby while simultaneously helping them feel more connected? The result is BabyBit, a revolutionary device that sends parents instant and actionable notifications about:
  • Where their baby is located
  • Who their baby is with
  • What their baby is doing
Unlike traditional baby monitors that simply provide raw video or audio, notable features of BabyBit include:
  • ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY: BabyBit uses mobile technology that turns raw data into meaningful insights. Parents can receive notifications about the baby’s level of comfort, ambient air temperature, location, whether or not baby is asleep, and more.
  • NOTIFICATIONS AT A GLANCE: BabyBit delivers alerts of critical events like the baby being picked up or dropped off by a new caregiver, or the caregiver being unable to console the baby.  Notifications are configurable to the needs of each parent.
  •  DETAILS AT THE TOUCH OF A BUTTON: Aside from instant notifications, parents can launch the app to get more detailed intelligence — including whether or not the baby is crying and how far away the baby is from the caregiver.
  • EASE OF USE: After attaching the BabyBit sensor to a baby’s clothing, parents can add as many caregivers as they’d like within the free iOS or Android app — plus recharge the device with a simple USB cable.
Quite simply, BabyBit is the first baby monitor that truly keeps you connected. For more details on BabyBit and its forthcoming Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign.
