This latest extortion phishing scam email came from a reader who got it last night. It’s not nearly as interesting as the ones that I have received lately, but it is still worth talking about. Here it is:
I know, “[PASSWORD REDACTED]” , is your password. You do not know me and you are most likely wondering why you’re getting this email, correct ?
Let me tell you, I placed a malware on the adult video clips (porn) web site and there’s more, you visited this website to have fun (you know what i mean). While you were watching videos, your internet browser started operating as a RDP (Remote Desktop control) with a key logger which provided me with accessibility to your screen and web camera. After that, my software program collected your entire contacts from your Messenger, social networks, and email.
What exactly did i do ?
I made a double-screen video. First part displays the video you were watching (you’ve got a fine taste ahah), and 2nd part displays the recording of your webcome.
What should you do ?
Well, I beleive, $700 is a fair price tag for our little secret.
You’ll make the payment through Bitcoin (if you do not know this, search “how to buy bitcoin” in Google).
Send money to this wallet : [WALLET REDACTED]
Well this is simple and to the point. But it’s not particularity sophisticated. It displays whatever password that the scammers got from whatever data breach info that they bought it from. It has the same claim of infecting the victim with some sort of malware that steals contacts, operates the webcam to record you, and has keylogging capabilities. In other words, there’s nothing new here. Which means that this is yet another scam email that you should just delete if this happens to pop up in your inbox.
