tech manufacturing, information services, search and platforms, and IT and custom software services.
  • Tech occupation employment also saw a gain of about 26,000 jobs in October.
  • Active tech job postings totaled about 630,000 in October and saw a slight gain above September postings. Job postings noting AI skills continue to rise.

Richard Matthews, Senior Solution Consulting Director at Nexthink had this to say:

“Employer demand for AI skills continues to rise. The challenge is that these skills are still scarce and come with a cost premium. Demand is outstripping supply. Therefore, firms will need to build these skills from within, through the people they already employ. That’s easier said than done. Few have a clear view of who is getting real value from AI and who is struggling to make it work. Without that insight, businesses can’t address the specific problems holding teams back or improve AI adoption.

“Visibility into how employees use AI changes that. Organizations can see where adoption is high, where it’s lagging and where people are running into friction. That lets them focus training where it’s needed most and get more from the people and tools they already pay for. When businesses can’t hire their way to AI skills, that knowledge shows them where to focus and whether their investment is paying off.”

This is worth a read as this has a significant amount of useful info.
