Circuit City…. It’s Dead Jim. [UPDATED]
The story with Circuit City so far was that they filed for chapter 11 protection, then they started efforts to save themselves. But it now turns out it was all in vain. Circuit City is now going to liquidate themselves according to this report. That sucks if you’re a Circuit City employee, but I’m guessing that they’ll be some great bargains to be had for shoppers. Oh yeah, the last time I wrote about Circuit City I said this:
In the meantime, my advice is that if you have a gift card from Circuit City, I’d use it now. You may not get a chance to if you wait too long.
If you haven’t used those gift cards, it may be too late now.
UPDATE: The Canadian arm of Circuit City (called The Source By Circuit City) will remain open and is talking to potential suitors according to The Globe And Mail.

I personally think it will be cool if RadioShack bought InterTan and converted the stores back to RadioShack. One of the rumours is that the current upper level management at InterTan are trying to put together a deal to buy it.
