Microsoft Says PowerPoint Has A Zero Day Flaw…. Oh Boy!

A Microsoft security advisory hit the streets yesterday that warns of a PowerPoint Zero Day Flaw:

Microsoft is investigating new reports of a vulnerability in Microsoft Office PowerPoint that could allow remote code execution if a user opens a specially crafted PowerPoint file. At this time, we are aware only of limited and targeted attacks that attempt to use this vulnerability.

How delightful.

The security advisory describes possible attack vectors and some workarounds. I’d expect Microsoft to come out with a patch for this shortly. Perhaps outside of their “Patch Tuesday” if need be.
