Now hitting software update on your Mac or PC is iTunes 8.2 and Quicktime 7.6.2. According to the release notes for iTunes 8.2:
“iTunes 8.2 now supports iPhone or iPod touch with the iPhone 3.0 Software Update. iTunes 8.2 also includes many accessibility improvements and bug fixes.”
So that’s a clear sign that iPhone Software 3.0 is just around the corner along with new iPhones. Now if Apple would only explain what those “bug fixes” are. But there is one security related fix that they did document.
Quicktime 7.6.2 at least has a list of things that it fixes, all of which are security related. Of course there’s the vague “changes that increase reliability, improve compatibility” that are always present with a lot of Apple’s updates.
