You might recall this post from the end of July about a update to Microsoft Office for Mac that kept Mac users from opening Office 2007 files? Well, Microsoft got around to fixing that bug today. If you’re affected by this, you might want to download this update that fixes the issue. You may want to also read this support note about the update as well. Or if you want to do the update from Office for Mac, Open one of the Office for Mac Applications and do the following:
- Select Help
- Check for Updates
- Quit your Office apps while the download is in progress. Then follow the directions.
I have to admit. This came out way faster than I would thought it would, but I guess when you screw up to that degree, you have to make good in a hurry.
