I’ve gotten a few e-mails asking me why Apple would release a 128GB iPad. There’s one possibility that can be found in their press release. If you read it, the press release talks abut applications typically found in the enterprise such as AutoCAD. Thus this suggests that this is aimed not at consumers, but businesses. It makes sense as Apple has likely put as many iPads into the hands of consumers as it can and that market is likely not to grow at the same rate going forward. Thus it’s time for them to focus on the next big market which is business. If that’s the case. then Apple could really put up some big numbers going forward as I can say that business is really adopting the tablet in a big way.
As an aside, I wonder if the timing also takes away from RIM’s big day today? Thoughts?
