You’d think that after the last time someone posted an ill advised tweet, people would smarten up. But apparently that’s not the case according to The National Post. Two Toronto Firefighters are in trouble for their Tweets which shall we say were offensive. The newspaper tripped over them and ran a story on it on August 10, but they are apparently “not on duty” as of today:
On Aug. 10, the Post published tweets from accounts connected to two firefighters in Scarborough.
Last November, a tweet from the account of Matt Bowman, @ Hero_Matt, stated: “Reject a woman and she will never let it go. One of the many defects of their kind. Also weak arms.” A tweet in March from the same account read: “I’d never let a woman kick my ass. If she tried something I’d be like Hey! you get your bitch ass back in the kitchen and make me some pie!”
On June 5 a tweet from the account of Lawaun Edwards, @Bassfire3680, read: “@deansomerset would swat her in the back of the head been considered abuse or a way to reset the brain?”
The @Hero_Matt Twitter account has since disappeared from the Internet, while @Bassfire3680 is no longer public.
You can see why the fire department might be a bit upset. Seeing as they’re trying to recruit women and all.
The take home message yet again is that if you post something ill advised on Twitter or any form of social media, someone is going to call you on it and you may not like what happens to you. In the meantime, I hope that the two clowns behind these Tweets get what they deserve.
