BUMP Bought By Google

One app that I find extremely handy is called BUMP as it allows you transfer files such as contacts and pictures from your phone to any computer or phone simply by tapping the phones together or phone to the computer’s space bar. Today via a blog post, it was announced that BUMP has now been acquired by Google:

Our mission at Bump has always been to build the simplest tools for sharing the information you care about with other people and devices.  We strive to create experiences that feel like magic, enabled behind the scene with innovations in math, data processing, and algorithms.  So we couldn’t be more thrilled to join Google, a company that shares our belief that the application of computing to difficult problems can fundamentally change the way that we interact with one another and the world.

It will be interesting to see what Google does with the app. Things will remain the same for now, but the future of BUMP is an open question. Care to place any bets as to what happens next?
