Rogers is serious about making sure that it goes from being a member of the big three telco club, to being the leading telco in Canada. One way that they’re doing that is by investing in their people to have as many MEF Carrier Ethernet Certified Professionals (MEF-CECPs) within the company as possible. Currently they have 66 which is the most any telco anywhere.
The MEF-CECP certification is a vendor-neutral, technical certification provided by the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) that recognizes the Carrier Ethernet expertise in professionals from a cross section of job functions including Product Management, Sales Engineering, Product Development, Network Engineering, Network Architecture, Product Support and Network Operations.
Someone who has a MEF-CEP certification is someone who brings to the table the necessary knowledge and skills to work comfortably within the Carrier Ethernet Community and further enables their success by teaching well-defined MEF terms to accurately describe and position their company’s service and equipment. A shared terminology improves internal communication, reduces product development time and eliminates errors in translating required features specifications.
For customers, working with MEF-CECP certified professionals means that they can be assured employees have acquired the key competencies and skills to design, market, deploy and support carrier Ethernet equipment. That’s huge for customers.
Here’s what Terry Canning, Senior Vice President, Rogers Business Solutions had to say on this:
“Rogers is proud to lead the industry with MEF-CECP certifications. Investing in our employees through industry accreditation is the foundation of Rogers’ ability to provide exceptional products and services to our customers. Having our employees certified in industry best-practices ensures that our customers can benefit from their skills and knowledge.”
You can fully expect that customers will take notice and it will tip the balance of power towards Rogers.
