Bell To Start Collecting Mobile Users Data On Nov. 16.

I have to admit that this has me a bit unsettled.

Bell’s privacy policy has been changed to alert mobile phone customers that it plans to start tracking web histories, TV watching habits and mobile app usage unless customers opt out.  This starts November 16 and the data that Bell collects will be used for improving network performance, creating marketing reports and selling targeted ads.

Right off the top, this is a #FAIL because you should have to opt-in to things as opposed to opt-out of them. But companies go that route as they believe that not a whole lot of people will bother to go the opt-out route, thus they get what they want.

If you as a Bell customer want to opt out, which trust me you do want to opt out, surf to this website and enter your mobile phone number and choose to opt out.
