I have to admit that this has caught my attention seeing as I am shopping around for a new cellular provider at the moment. Telus sent me some news about a new mid-term upgrade program called T-UP. Here’s how it works.
Customers activating or renewing a new iPhone with AppleCare+ have the option of adding the $9/month T-UP! feature to their account. After 12 months, the customer will be eligible to upgrade to a new device. All they have to do is return their current iPhone in good working order and purchase any new device on a two-year term and their existing device balance is waived.
Without T-UP! customers must pay off their device balance ($245 for an iPhone 5s) to upgrade after a year. However, when customers add the T-UP! feature to their account, they only pay $108 over a one year span, which means they save $142 overall. Check out this chart for the breakdown:
