BlackBerry just announced that they have acquired a company called Movirtu who is a provider of virtual identity solutions that allows multiple phone numbers to be active on one device. BlackBerry is now able to provide iOS, Android and BlackBerry device users a fair and accurate way to split the bill between employers and their employees. The Movirtu Virtual SIM platform allows businesses to issue employees two phone numbers that divide their device between corporate and personal use. With split billing, the employer and employee only pay for the corporate or personal use of the phone.
Clearly this is an attempt by BlackBerry to woo more corporate customers by making their devices and software more attractive to those who want one device for personal and business use, but want the security to back it up.
