An Update To My WiFi Issues With iOS 8

Well, I’ve been trying to reason through the issues I have had with WiFi on iOS 8. After some research, I discovered a workaround. Here’s what I did:

  • Go To Settings app
  • Go to Privacy
  • Go to Location Services
  • Go to System Services
  • Disable Wi-Fi Networking

Since I have done this, my WiFi networking is solid. So in my case, this setting when activated is interfering with WiFi. Based on the name, it’s likely a service that allows the iPhone to detect its location via WiFi. So it’s not really required as far as I know and none of my apps have complained.

Now I cannot take credit for finding this. I found this and other tips here. Try them and let us know what works for you. In the meantime, I hope that Apple gets a fix out the door quickly as this is just a workaround and not a fix.
