Microsoft Employs “Blue Screen Of Death” To Get You To Upgrade To Windows 10

If you thought that Microsoft’s aggressive tactics to get you to upgrade to Windows 10 were over, as I thought they were, think again. Microsoft is now using a nagware screen that says the following to get you to upgrade:

Sorry to interrupt but this is important. Windows 10 free upgrade offer ends 29 July.

There’s even an Knowledge Base article on this. That way you now know that this is by design. The thing is, this window covers the entire screen and employs a shade of blue that is reminiscent of the infamous blue screen of death. But the good news is that you can make this go away without doing something stupid like starting an upgrade to Windows 10 or something. Still, this is clearly a last ditch effort to get Windows users to upgrade so that Microsoft can boost their Windows 10 adoption rate.

#fail Microsoft. #fail.
