Some much needed positive news for Samsung. They have announced that it is acquiring Viv Labs, an artificial intelligence startup founded by Siri vets Dag Kittlaus, Adam Cheyer and Chris Brigham. Samsung has not disclosed just how much the purchase will cost, but the company says that the deal shows its commitment to virtual personal assistants, and is “part of the company’s broader vision to deliver an AI-based open ecosystem across all of its devices and services.”
This might be interesting to watch as Viv could be described as a more sophisticated version of Siri as it has the ability to learn and grow its abilities. Assuming that their phones stop catching fire, I am sure that this will find its way into future Samsung products.
