Telus reached out to me today to let me know that their first connected car solution for consumers is coming soon to Canada. Called Telus Drive+will help customers drive smarter and safer.
The TelusDrive+ device which is made by ZTE is compatible with most vehicles built after 1996 and simply plugs into the car’s On-Board Diagnostic (OBD-II) port. After downloading the Telus Drive+ app on their smartphone from the Apple App Store or Google Play and completing the easy setup, customers can access a range of features that will help keep their family safe, secure and connected at all times with a number of innovative features to help drivers:
- Take better care of their car – Customers will receive an in-depth understanding of their car and receive helpful car diagnostics and trouble notifications directly to their phone with the Telus Drive+ mobile app, available for both Android and iOS.
- Track their car – They can put family safety first and get peace of mind by tracking their car’s location, viewing driving behaviour (e.g. speed alerts), and setting notifications for when the car enters or exits boundaries on a map.
- Stay connected – No matter the distance, customers can enjoy their drive by turning their car into a Wi-Fi Hotspot and connect up to five devices through a Telus data plan.
