Twitter has some explaining to do this morning as a rogue employee on their last day of employment with Twitter shut down the @RealDonaldTrump Twitter account that is used by Donald Trump who also happens to be the President of the United States. The account was down for a grand total of 11 minutes last night. But that was long enough to freak out a lot of people.
Twitter’s explaining started with this:
But I think that a more robust explanation needs to come from the company. After all, if the employee was able to shut down the account. They could have posted fake Tweets too. Clearly neither is good. And it all needs to be explained.
Then there’s the response from the man himself:
What does that even mean? I’m so confused by some of the things he says sometimes. Perhaps that indicates that governments shouldn’t be run via social media. Just a thought.
