TELUS ranked first in Canada for Network Quality Performance

TELUS proudly announced today that it has been recognized as first in Network Quality Performance in Canada according to the 2019 J.D. Power Canada Wireless Network Quality Performance Study. The study reinforces the strength of TELUS’ network across the country, marking five years that TELUS has won a J.D. Power Award for its network quality across one or more of the three regions evaluated. This is also the second time the company has earned all three regional awards in the same year.

Since 2000, TELUS has invested more than $215 billion in network infrastructure and spectrum to enhance the coverage, speed and reliability of its world-class network and connect our customers across Canada. In an increasingly global and digital economy, TELUS continues to invest in critical technology components that will drive future enablement of TELUS PureFibre and 5G networks which will support innovation and help drive digital development across industries in a new age of hyper-connectedness.

The gigabit-enabled TELUS PureFibre network is among the most advanced communications infrastructure available in the world today. Since 2013, TELUS has connected 116 communities in B.C., Alberta and eastern Quebec to the TELUS PureFibre network, and will have connected more than 50 Indigenous communities in B.C. and Alberta by the end of next year. TELUS PureFibre network is also the backbone of TELUS’ wireless network, enabling more wireless capacity and faster speeds throughout Western Canada and Eastern Quebec, laying the groundwork for 5G technologies in the years ahead.

TELUS has also been recognized for its network superiority by other industry-leading experts, including the H2 OpenSignal Awards in 2018, where TELUS secured the top spot for 4G LTE network speeds in Canada for the second year in a row. In September 2018, TELUS was named Canada’s fastest mobile network by PC Mag, spotlighting its highly optimized core network. Lastly, Ookla recognized TELUS as having Canada’s Fastest Mobile Network during Q3-Q4 2018.

The J.D. Power Canada Wireless Network Quality Performance StudySM measures satisfaction based on recent customer usage activities in three areas that impact network performance: calling, messaging, and data connections.
