I swear, every time I turn around there’s yet another plot twist the the train wreck next to a dumpster fire that is the Elon Musk run Twitter. Here’s the latest twist:

As I type this, here are the results so far:

You’ll note that this poll has over four million votes. That’s not a trivial amount of humans and bots that have voted. And at this rate, I can’t see how the “Yes” side doesn’t end up winning. Now I have a bunch of theories behind why he’s doing this and they are as follows:

• This is a stunt and he has no intention of stepping down as “head of Twitter.” Or put another way, he’s trolling Twitter users.
• The people who lent him money are getting tired of his sideshow antics and want him out. Thus he posted this poll to act as cover to make it look like it’s his decision to leave.
• He’s bled so much personal net worth and cash that he’s looking for an exit ramp so that he can cash out as best as he can. Thus he posted this poll to act as cover to make it look like abiding by the will of the people as he tends to say whenever he puts up one of these polls.
• He’s looking to get out of dodge as he knows that the hammer from various governments and government agencies is headed his way. Thus he posted this poll to act as cover to make it look like abiding by the will of the people so that he can run and hide from the smackdown that Twitter and whomever leads it is likely to get.
• His ego is so bruised that he needs to put an end to the constant bashing that he’s getting from all directions. Thus he posted this poll to act as cover to make it look like abiding by the will of the people because he is a snowflake.
• He actually thinks he can win which he thinks will strengthen his position.

I am sure there are other reasons. If you have anything plausible, leave a comment and share it please.

In all of those possibilities, you’ll note that I am not giving him the benefit of the doubt that he has come to his senses and wants to give Twitter the best chance to survive. Because the last few weeks have proven that he’s not that guy as he doesn’t have the emotional intelligence to make a decision like that. Thus why I think that this poll to borrow an Among Us phrase is a bit “sus“. Having said that, his true motives will become clear in about ten hours or so.
