The OpeniMac Appears To Taunt The iLawyers

I guess an army of iLawyers isn’t enough to scare a company called OpeniMac (Warning: Website is in Spanish) from making a Macintosh clone. OpeniMac is based in Argentina and has two products that run OS X 10.5:

  • An entry level model sports an Intel Core 2 Duo running at 2.53GHz, a 320GB hard drive, a “SuperDrive”, eight USB ports and four FireWire, a card reader, and a 19″ LCD monitor from LG.
  • A uplevel model has a Intel Core 2 Duo running at 3GHz, a 500GB hard drive, a “SuperDrive”, eight USB ports and four FireWire, a card reader, and a 20″ LCD monitor from LG as well as an outrageous 1GB of video memory.

Oh yeah, the cases are ugly as sin. There are PCs on the market that look better than these things.

I have my doubts that this is for real, but that’s what I said about Psystar until their boxes started appearing in the hands of users. So if I hear about anyone actually getting their hands on one of these, I’ll let you know. In the meantime, I think it’s a safe bet that “The Steve” is talking with the iLawyers above suing these guys out of existence.
