Apple’s Latest Religious Experience…. The World Wide Developers Conference [UPDATED]

Once a year the more technically minded Mac faithful gather to hear the latest preachings from the pulpit discover the latest in Apple tech at the World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC). Besides enhancing their knowledge, the WWDC has been used as a platform to launch new products during the keynote address which takes place today.

This year is a little different though. Although there have been rumors on the Interwebs about a new iPhone, the latest Mac OS X operating system called Snow Leopard, and if you really believe the rumor mill there’s the possibility of new laptops and even a tablet based device. But all of this pales in comparasion to the rumor that is getting the most attention. The possible return of God Steve Jobs. Wired for one has speculated that “The Steve” is going to make a surprise appearance at the WWDC. He does have a flair for the dramatic, so I suppose that’s possible. Still I’ll believe it when I see it.

Whatever the case, it should be interesting. Several websites will have live coverage of the event. Surf to Engadget or MacRumorsLive for all the action as it happens. Plus check back here for my thoughts later today. Don’t hesitate to post your own thoughts on the event in the comments section as well.

UPDATE: The Apple Online Store has been shut down. Usually when that happens, new product is about to be announced. We’ll find out in an hour or so.
