You might recall that I wrote about the discovery of a backdoor in some Linksys and Netgear routers that allowed someone to get admin access without trying too hard. Today Cisco, who is also affected by this, announced that it will fix the issue in their routers via firmware updates. However no timetable was given. We’ll have to wait to see if other companies who have router hardware that are affected by this do the same. When I get that info, I’ll post an update.
