You’ll recall in my In Depth Report Of Toronto based start-up Synaptop that they were going on the CBC TV show Dragon’s Den to make a pitch to the Dragon’s, who are investors in up and coming businesses, for funding to take their cutting edge products to the next level. Let me give you a hint of what happened:
That sounds pretty positive. So does this:
Now if you don’t want a spoiler… Stop here and watch their pitch and the result.
However if you just want to find out what happened, here’s the lowdown. Sami Siddique & Jane Iordakieva of Synaptop made a very compelling pitch to the Dragon’s and started a very interesting bidding war between the Dragons which ended Arlene Dickson and Michael Wekerle going in for $500K in exchange for 20% of the company. I was impressed by how Siddique and Iordakieva made their pitch and how they answered the questions, which was likely the reason why they got the result that they did.
Congratulations to Synaptop as I really think with the help of these two Dragons, they’re going to make a name for themselves.
