This thread over at DSLreports.com has details about a speed increase for entry level DSL users on DSL providers that get access through Bell. Starting June 16th their speeds will increase from 256Kbps to 512Kbps. That’s double the bandwidth! I find it interesting that Bell is doing this while claiming that they don’t have bandwidth due to 5% of their users who use BitTorrent. So as a result they have to throttle users to make sure that everyone can surf for porn.
Hopefully someone points this out to the CRTC as I can’t see how Bell can spin this with a straight face.
