Research In Motion today announce a new BlackBerry called the Storm. It will be available on Verizon in the US and Vodaphone Europe, India, Australia and New Zealand later this quarter. A RIM press release gives you all of the relevant details on the release of the Storm with those carriers, although Telus here in Canada just posted a teaser site that indicates that they’re going to carry the Storm as well. One would think that Rogers is going to be carrying it as too, but no word from Ted (Rogers) and the boys just yet.
This my friends is Research In Motion’s “iPhone Killer” given that it is touchscreen based and does a ton of stuff with Media. Plus it syncs with your iTunes Library on your PC. But don’t despair Mac fanbois users. According to this post on Boy Genius Report, RIM will be showing Mac users some love shortly.
Lets see if the Storm can help RIM’s stock price climb back to levels that will keep the street happy.
